March is just around the corner and with that the first Taste event of the year: Taste of Sydney. The foodie outdoor event will take place between 10 and 13 March at Sydney’s Centennial Park.

** Cheese of the month: Tête de Moine

Did you say Monk’s head? Yes, that’s exactly what the name of this raw milk cheese translates to. It’s called that because back in the 1500s it was produced in by Monks in Monasteries in the Swiss Jura.

Today it’s a well sought after cheese. True experts even have a wooden device (called “Girolle” – available in our online shop (https://www.alpineexpress.com.au/products/girolle-the-original-cheese-shaper/) ) at home with which they are shaving off little rosettes of the cheese helping aerating and fully enhancing its beautiful aroma bouquet. Handy for those that don’t have the equipment, the Tête de Moine now also comes in a box together with a re-usable plastic shaper – ideal for your dinner party at home (pictured above).

** Heidi loves Swiss raclette

Heidi – the classic Swiss movie is back in a new 2015 version. It’s the newest adaption of one of Switzerland’s most famous stories by author Johanna Spyri, originally published in 1881.

The new movie, coming to Swiss cinemas in December, features Heidi eating Swiss raclette. It’s currently unknown if the film is being shown in Australia as well. However, we’ll certainly keep you updated. In the meantime, why not watch the trailer from Raclette Suisse?
